TOWN OF NEWFANE, NY

The wonderful communities that make up the Town of Newfane have always represented the best of what America is.

WE'RE YOUR DESTINATION IF YOU ARE LOOKING FOR AWARD-WINNING COMMUNITIES DEVELOPED FROM A SLICE OF PARADISE

Newfane, New York is a small Western New York town located on the shores of Lake Ontario in Niagara County. What Newfane lacks in size and population, it makes up for in rich history and communal spirit. The Town of Newfane actually encompasses Appleton – a hamlet in the northeast part of Newfane, Burt – a hamlet south of Olcott on Route 78, named after Burt van Horn, an early settler in the region, and Corwin – a hamlet between Newfane and Wrights Corners on Route 78. It doesn't stop there though, because it also includes Ridgewood – a hamlet southeast of Newfane on Route 104 (Ridge Road), our namesake Newfane – the hamlet of Newfane is on Route 78, centrally located in the town and on the east bank of Eighteen Mile Creek, beautiful Olcott – a hamlet with a safe refuge boat harbor on Lake Ontario, Woodland Heights – a lakeside hamlet on Lake Ontario and finally Wrights Corners – a hamlet on the south town line, partly in the Town of Lockport.

Many Newfane residents were born here. Neighbors grew up together. Children attended outstanding public schools. Small businesses are vibrant and viable. People are friendly and hard-working. It’s been this way ever since Newfane was incorporated in 1824 by James Van Horn.
